None of the cards will boot to BIOS, not even with the bare minimum. I switched around on the processors on both cards as well. Same result. Never seen anything like this. None of the components work. Wonder what happened; did the warehouse suffer a lightning strike or something? EMP? WTF...
I have tried so many things now that I have kinda lost track. I believe I tried your suggestion as well, but with two memory sticks. Will try with one. However, as mentioned above, I use memory sticks that do work on another similar build (the 5600G one).
Will perhaps do that next time. However, I have several builds that are based on similar setups, with AMDs with no G and using the MSI as a temporary GPU for the installation only. It always worked.
It's a server that is just connected to the LAN without display, so no. However, "I used an MSI GT 710 as a temporary graphics card as the processor has no graphics capability", see above.
I have a home server that just gave up the ghost. The motherboard, CPU, memory, and power supply were all ancient, so I figured I might just as well renew everything but the SSDs. I bought the following:
Gigabyte B450M S2H
AMD Ryzen 5 4500 3.6GHz
Thermaltake Smart RGB 500W 80 Plus
Corsair...
Thanks, @Hellfire13. A friend has the same setup. Actually, I think it is exactly the same setup. Some coincidence... Anyway, that build has one problem; it makes a lot of noise. One reason may be that the processor fan is very close to the wall of the case. Moreover, the fan runs at full speed...
I want to build or buy a small low-noise budget PC for watching streaming on a full HD TV-set. The latter may be replaced at some point by a 4K set, so it would be good if the PC could have that covered.
Small: Preferably mini-ITX or less...
Low-noise: The less fan-noise, the better. It will...
BIOS / processor: So this could very well be a case of the 3600 simply not working, and the 5600G needing an upgrade?
PSU: What's wrong with those?
DIsplay: I am trying to use HDMI for display. Also tried the VGA on the Biostar board.
I am building two AMD Ryzen-based PCs at the same time. I got the following components:
2 x power Nox Urano VX 650W 80+ Bronze 120MM PWM
2 x boxes Corsair Carbide 275Q USB 3.0 Black
2 x Kingston A400 SSD 240GB
1 x motherboard MSI A320M-A PRO MAX
1 x motherboard Biostar A320MH
1 x AMD Ryzen 5...
I have a problem with a PC that does not start and there are several likely culprits, including motherboard and PSU. One way of looking for faults is to look for faulty or leaky capacitators, if they contain liquid electrolyte. However, all capacitors on these components are polymer-based (as...
