Question Packet loss on 100ft ethernet connection

Ok, I've got the right wire that works perfect now.I'm using the CableMatters 100ft cable that was suggested and it gives me 0% packet loss from multiple tests. My ping in my silly video games are now consistent and below 30 at all times.

Question Packet loss on 100ft ethernet connection

I'm looking for lower ping, not better mbps. In game, my ping is in the 30-50+ and will often spike to 500+ms. In a game like Valorant, that is unplayable and not very fun (assuming I'm having any fun lol its valorant). With a wired connection, I would minimize or negate that issue entirely...

No, wifi is perfect through every test. No packet loss what so ever.

Question Packet loss on 100ft ethernet connection

The wifi is great for normal use. However for a game like Valorant, you need a stable ping. When I did have it wired to the router (packet loss and all), my ping was consistent. When I play wirelessly, I would see spikes of up to 700 ping randomly, which isn't fun when you are playing a...

Question Packet loss on 100ft ethernet connection

Not many. The issue is that my room has several walls in the path going to my router. I am also in the process of switching my setup to a different room that gets less direct sun, since my current one warms up so much, esspecially with a gaming pc in it. The new room is directly above the router.

I was going to try this with a laptop. Waiting on the ethernet adapter to come.

Question Packet loss on 100ft ethernet connection

There was the isp provided router, but I swapped it out completely. As well as the modem. I had it configured and it should be in working order according to my router's simple looking diagnostics and Spectrum's setup page from when I first set it up.

Question Packet loss on 100ft ethernet connection

Yeah, I'm giving his suggestion a shot and got another CableMatters cable. The speed test looks fine. In game is where the problem arises. When I get packet loss, every player controlled character stops moving for a moment because my computer is temporarily unable to communicate with the game...

Question Packet loss on 100ft ethernet connection

I don't think any "green" power setting is turned on. Never touched the settings since setting it to "high performance mode" in the power settings. In my previous appartment, I was wired and didn't have any packet loss with the same router and pc. Hell, I even had cheap ethernet cables (granted...

Question Packet loss on 100ft ethernet connection

Question Packet loss on 100ft ethernet connection

I know cat 5 and up are more than capable of 100ft. I'm just unsure why three cables I don't see how it could be a fake. The cable was about $80 and DbillionDa seems pretty well respected from a quick google search. Regardless, what brand would you suggest.
