Question Totally mystified - millions of OCCT errors, ASUS Optimized Bios, etc.

Thanks, that's my thought as well - though I don't know, now that the system is stable with the new Bios profile, whether I *NEED* to act on it. I mean this PSU is only maybe a couple of years old, max, and supposedly is a decent one.

Question Totally mystified - millions of OCCT errors, ASUS Optimized Bios, etc.

Hi everyone, thanks in advance as always for your expert help. I've got a crazy on going on that has me totally mystified. Out of the blue, my computer started randomly freezing, sometimes almost immediately after boot, and the only thing I can do is do a hard power down. Initially I thought...

Question Kid spilled water onto top of pc case... diagnosing liquid cooler?

Quick follow up... I took it all apart and found no hidden moisture. So I trashed the h100i v2 and installed the h100 rgb pro xt. In so doing, I also changed my configuration from top-mounted exhaust to front-mounted intake. The improvement is incredible. Knock on wood, zero shutdowns so it...

Question Kid spilled water onto top of pc case... diagnosing liquid cooler?

What else could it be that would cause suddenly overheating, any ideas? The motherboard? If water did dip down, that's what it would have hit next.

Question Kid spilled water onto top of pc case... diagnosing liquid cooler?

Thanks for the reply! That is my confusion as well. I believe water only got into the radiator but I suppose it is possible some dripped down before I could shut it off - only a matter of seconds though. The fans do spin on the radiator. Unfortunately I can't check Temps or run any software...

Question Kid spilled water onto top of pc case... diagnosing liquid cooler?

Hi, bit of a disaster moment here, one of my kids tripped and spilled a cup of water directly on the top of my pc case, which has a top mounted corsair 100i v2 liquid cooler. I immediately ripped out the power cord and let it air dry for 24 hours. When I try turning it on now, it works fine...

[SOLVED] BAFFLING system no display and errors after replacing (almost) all components

Wow - ok. Got it to boot to Windows by changing from DP to HDMI as mentioned (no idea why, and I need my DP ports to work so... we'll see), updating the BIOS as suggested, AND what finally worked was enabling CMS for booting from legacy and UEFI devices. Thank you for the help! I don't...

[SOLVED] BAFFLING system no display and errors after replacing (almost) all components

Thank you for the replies! Sadly I spoke too soon - not solved yet. Using HDMI only (I changed DP cables with no luck), I am able to get into BIOS - but am unable to get into Windows. Just one issue after another. PSU is EVGA SuperNOVA P2 850W. It is about 5 years old. I guess I will try...

[SOLVED] BAFFLING system no display and errors after replacing (almost) all components

Well, you solved it - I didn't realize this mobo didn't have an on-board GPU. So, I went back to using my 1080ti in the new build... but switched to the HDMI instead of the DP (which i thought i had done before, but i guess not)... and now it works fine (so far). I'm thinking this means i just...

[SOLVED] BAFFLING system no display and errors after replacing (almost) all components

Hi everyone - I'm stumped and would love some help! A couple weeks ago I flashed my bios on a z270 build to attempt to enable TPM 2.0. It went fine, I restarted, no problem. Changed a few settings in Bios and restarted a second time - and everything went kaput. Wouldn't post. The yellow boot and...

Question New build: no power to new mobo (psu is good). Doa mobo or possibly cpu?

thank you for the reply - unfortunately no debug lights are on, and I can't update bios because no power, let alone display. I'm connecting it outside of the case at this point to test.

Question New build: no power to new mobo (psu is good). Doa mobo or possibly cpu?

Hi everyone, this forum saved me 5 years ago when I built my previous PC - hoping you good people can help me again! After a bios flash my old system (z270) will no longer post. Frustrating but good excuse for a rebuild upgrade. I decided to dive in with a new build leveraging a few existing...

Used PS4 vs. New PS4 Pro - Worth it for 4K?

Hi everyone, non-PC question here! Just polling the community. I have an opportunity to buy a buddy's used PS4 (original) for $80. I had been considering the PS4 Pro, because I have a 4K TV, at $350. Now I'm torn. Is it worth the difference in price? I mostly game on PC so would just be using...
