Sharing my personal experience, I have FX-6100 OC'ed to 4.7Ghz and pairing up with a GTX 770. Playing BF4 at maximum setting @ 1080p. I'm getting average 60++ fps.

Either GTX 770 or R9 280X is good. You won't go wrong. They perform pretty much the same, maybe few fps different in particular games.

You can throw almost every todays games @ 1080p with a R9 280X or a GTX 770. They're both sweet cards.
