go into bios, monitoring and she whats happening there, i had a rog booard once that would overheat in about 10 sec. it was the northbridge i think that would sky rocket

well its just trial and see. id keep pretty much the same as u have them, probly lower 60 ddegrees to 60%. run occt and set max where u wanna be, then do some gaming and see where its at. gaming will be alot lower temps than a stress test

thats an atx size motherboard, im guessing your case is a micro atx. id buy a new midtower case, theres lots out there that are nice for 70-100. i just did a build in a zalman r1 and it was a great case. if its was corsair or another more mainstream brand they would probly be double the...

if u remove the gpu and use on board graphics will it give u the spash screen and boot into window and display> is it a new or used motherboard? could be a bad pcie slot. also check your backplate that none of the tabs above usb ports are inside them. i had a motherbord fry becuase of that...

i believe that higher clock speed on an i5 will be more beneficial than having lower clocks but hyperthreading for gaming

are you trying to keep the cpu as cool as possible or lookg for it to be quiet? keep an eye on ur temps while running occt and adjust fan curve for how u like it. max temp for that is around 100, and id bet that cooler will keep that cpu under 60 c with very low fan speeds

sorry i forgot to mention cpu, it could be throttling because of temps. blow dust out and maybe repaste, thats an older cpu and paste may need to be redone

just the os will never use all the ram, its programed to only use a certain amount. i have 16 gb and it uses about 3 gb, most games it will go up to 8, the only time ive seen ram maxed is converting videos

i dont think that older motherboard would bottleneck anything. i dont know if its pci-e 2.0 or 3.0 but ive read up on that and wont make a difference. if u are concerned about it get the cheaper card and a motherboard

i cant see a single 1080 requiring an i7, doesnt make much difference in gaming. ive disabled hyper threading on my i7 4790k and ran some benchmarks and test didnt notice any difference. and im running 2 980tis
