[PROBLEM] Motherboard not detecting graphics card or SSD as boot device

There's a couple of things I would try first: Reseating both hardware devices (pull out and reinstall the graphics card, then disconnect and reseat the cables for the SSD). I know that's a simplified solution, but if it can get your graphics card operational that would be a step in the right...

SSD detected by Windows, but not available as boot device in BIOS

So, I did the following and it now works: 1. Changed my motherboard settings to AHCI 2. Selected the SSD as my primary hard drive 3. Confirmed the SSD was in the bootable device list 4. Reinstalled Windows onto the SSD (repairs did not create a bootldr on the SSD) 5. Used a utility to convert...

My Laptop has a black screen and can't get into Desktop and more

Load up your Windows installation disk. If this is a factory PC, it *probably* is set to boot from CD. From what I have found, it appears that the system required you to create disks to boot for a repair; otherwise, you'll have to do a Restore to Factory Default, which will wipe everything off...

My Laptop has a black screen and can't get into Desktop and more

If you don't have any system restore options there from before you began experiencing the issue, then it won't help you much. Your best bet, in all probability, is to run a repair on your operating system.

SSD detected by Windows, but not available as boot device in BIOS

Awesome tidbits there - I'll give them a go and see what I can do. Getting the boot loader wasn't the major issue, but getting the BIOS to see the SSD from the beginning was. Until I do that, doesn't do me much good to play with the bootloader :)

My Laptop has a black screen and can't get into Desktop and more

Well, first you'll need to get to it. Your best bet, if you cannot access your Start button, is to create a shortcut to the following path: %SYSTEM%\System32\rstrui.exe (%SYSTEM% is the folder where Windows has been installed) Once it is open, click "Next" There, if it has been active, you...

My Laptop has a black screen and can't get into Desktop and more

If you can see your desktop icons, then it isn't the Explorer feature. Is System Restore configured on your laptop?

Is the 1TB 3.5" SEAGATE HYBRID DRIVE A fast drive?

My research showed that the hybrid drives showed no discernible increase in speed. I would agree with what others have posted - get an SSD and a separate HDD for large storage. That's my current setup.

can i use an external hard disk instead of an internal for games

Basically, for the vast majority of modern applications, when they are installed they write items to your Registry, that basically tell Windows how to access them, etc. Some simple applications don't require this (so you might be able to run some simple flash games, etc) but anything complex is...

Another SSD question - Moving OS and certain programd

Honestly, you cannot install a clean version of Windows without an installation disk; however, the ISO files to create new ones are out there. It just depends on which version of Windows you have and if you are able to acquire the key from your current installation. If this was from a...

SSD detected by Windows, but not available as boot device in BIOS

So, I have a strange issue. I installed a 128GB SSD into my PC, along with a 3TB HDD. I installed Windows onto the SSD (drive C), and I use the HDD for most everything else. I noticed that the HDD had a decent chunk of unallocated space, but thought nothing of it at the time. The other day...
