System Image Backup on Internal HDD

just using the regular windows 7 backup program. Not sure what you mean by needing access at boot time. There is nothing on that partition except the backup files.

System Image Backup on Internal HDD

I have my system image backups saved to a HDD partition. The hard drive doesn't show up when/if I need to use my system image backup. For example, windows will use the recovery utility and ask if I want to use a system image, only none of my hard drives show up. Not even the partition I'm using...

    What's Going on with Windows?

Think I've narrowed down the culprit, at least what was behind the system load failure after updating/installing all drivers just now. Had a 3rd Windows load failure after using Driver Manager to install "Intel(R) 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family 6 Port SATA AHCI Controller - 1C02" I was...

PC Does not like Sleep Mode

My current setup is in RAID mode so that I can utilize the Intel Smart Response technology with a HDD. Have operating system and misc programs on SSD, games and other non essentials on HDD. Have a 60GB OCZ Vertex3 SSD caching for the 1TB seagate barracuda HDD.

PC Does not like Sleep Mode

Hello, Something really strange happens when my computer goes into sleep mode. No amount of mouse movement, or pressing of keyboard keys will awake my PC. I have to hit the reset switch, which would turn everything off momentarily, then proceed to desktop (normally). This morning however, my...

Need your opinion on the NZXT H2

I have that exact case. It's pretty good, I like it. And your GPU will be no where near in the way of any HDD or SATA drives. Also, a good place in the back to route cables through for increased air flow. My case runs very cool with an i5 2500k OC'd to 4.6 ghz, MSI 560 Ti 2GB (OC edition) and a...

    NZXT H2 (Case)

All the case cables are pre bundled together and all lead to an upper portion of the case that can only be accessed via many screws and taking things apart such as hot swapable hard drive bay... that would be an ordeal. The components in that area of the case house the power/reset buttons, HDD...

    NZXT H2 (Case)

Hello, I'm using this case with a P8Z68-V LE mobo. the 3rd 2.0 USB port doesn't work on the front of the case. The 3.0 USB and 2 of the 2.0 USB ports do work, just not that 3rd 2.0 USB port. I have a sneaking suspicion it has something to do with that dangling USB connector in the case that...

    Intel Smart Response Technology

I'm not really anymore at the moment. Just want to know if I'm using my SSD to it's full potential. I know trim is important. So, if have SATA mode set to "AHCI mode" I'm good to go? Again, booting fine to desktop with AHCI selected. Not sure if I installed OS with IDE or AHCI selected...

    Intel Smart Response Technology

Well I currently have the SATA mode set up to AHCI and my system boots fine. I don't remember if it was set at IDE or AHCI when I installed OS. Is it possible to install OS with IDE selected and still switch to AHCI? Does that matter or am I fine with having SATA at AHCI now?

    Intel Smart Response Technology

Uh, that's a bummer. Only have 1 SSD at the moment. So I'd have to get 2 SSD's. Reformat all drives, turn "Raid Mode" on, re-install OS on a SSD. Then install driver and assign SSD cache? Thanks for the info.

    Intel Smart Response Technology

Hello, Just finished building my new PC with a Z68, 120 GB SSD, and a 1TB HDD. I installed the OS on the SSD and plan to install games and non system programs on the HDD. What I'd like to do is use the remaining SSD as caching for the HDD. So, I did what the piece of paper that came with the...
