    9800gx2 + Asus Striker 2 Formula = black screen

Hi Thomas, Sounds like a sweet build...when it starts working. Two things that come to mind are first, you have a modular PSU. Double check those connections from the PS to the Card on both ends. The 9800 GX2 should run fine on the PS you have. Secondly, it sounds more like a GPU issue to me...

Losing my mind! - Asus A8N SLI premium wont post

I would also use another videocard and see if you get a signal. If not. Look at your capacitors on the board. If they are swollen or charred in anyway, then you have bigger problems.

Interesting Post Mortem findings after a PS dies

Thanks...that makes sense. The mobo battery was fine and there stands were all good and nothing was shorting out on the case. I think that this theory holds up a little better than the alien conspiracy theories :D

Interesting Post Mortem findings after a PS dies

Well I had an Antec Trupower II 550w SLI power supply die on me last week when something blew in side of it and replaced with an Ultra 600w SLI PS. About a year ago, I started having a problem where none of my BIOS settings were saving if the PS was disconnected or there was a black out. I...

Power supply w/o 3 pin and CPU fan issue

My Antec Tru Power II SLI 550 watt power supply just died on me and I got an Ultra X-Finity SLI 600 watt PS. I have an Asus A8N SLI Deluxe and Setting up was pretty easy. The problem I ran into with the Ultra is that there was no 3 pin connector to plug into the slot called PWR_Fan. There is a 4...

    Power Supply goes POP! Help!

Haven't had time to get a new PS yet, but Antec was ok with RMAing the PS. I am just holding my breath for when the moment of truth happens when I try to fire up the system with the new PS.

    Power Supply goes POP! Help!

I just went to fire up my system and there was no response. I checked the power cord connected to the PS, it was a little loose, so I got it seated correctly and then pressed the on button...Then I hear a loud POP (kind of like a cap gun) from the back of the system. I assume this it was the...

    Adding Registry Entry Question

Thanks so much for the response. However the value {5e941d80-bf96-11cd-b579-08002b30bfeb} was already there in that entry. I replaced it just in case there might have been something I wasn't seeing. But no luck, the file still opens in word pad. Could it be an application I have on my PC that...

    Adding Registry Entry Question

I have a file (.reg extension) that I would like to add to my registry. When I double click on the file when I am using one of my PC's (both are using XP) the message pops up and asks if I would like to add the entry to my registry and I simply click yes. On my other XP machine, I double click...

    Understanding Bootvis results

I have noticed over the past few months my boot time is getting longer and longer. I have no spyware, viruses, etc running. Services running are pretty minimal at this time and I only have the AMD Dualcore patch and one NVIDA (NVCLP) service set at start up. I ran bootvis and I justed wanted to...
