Well that cable wouldn't say gold plated but the pins still look like they are gold plated, I don't think the casing matters if it's gold or not. Could you assume that if it has that gold color then it is gold plated? What about lan ports are they all gold plated? You don't really want a gold...

There is gold plated HDMI cables and the casing is gold and there is HDMI cable where the casing is not gold but the pins still look gold on the inside if you shine a light and look at them, so are all HDMI cable gold plated at least the pins?
