speaking of which, is a pump thats in a reservoir and under water likely to be more quiet or will the difference be negligible?

well yeah, if i go mega cheap mode im gonna get pump/res combo acrylic box that just sits at the bottom of the case, but where is this designed to screw on? am i more likely to pick out wherever i want it and drill the holes myself? i feel like, with a clean job, that could end up looking cooler...
