    Sounds like corruption. What you can always do enter advanced options by repeated pressing f8 when you power up the PC and using a restore point. If you go that rout and it does not work as planned look at the RAM and/or HDD as having a potential failure

    It is essentially the same as hard resetting a phone the only difference is your personal stuff remains intact. Think of it as resetting ONLY windows nothing else

    Four beep codes indicates a Memory failure. In order to resolve it you can try to reseat the memory sticks. Also if there are 2 memory sticks in the system remove one and then check to isolate the bad memory stick. Please reply with the outcome.

    If your booting into it you should see a section called HDD once in if your a western digital HDD select their diagnostic tool. Run a S.M.A.R.T test and then a Short DST check.     Yes and potentially yes. Those tools will tell you 100% if your HDD has kicked the bucket. Then if it has you would need to get a new HDD and install onto that one. If they report that the HDD is fine we can explore additional fixes.
