    - Phone Make/ Model: Samsung Galaxy S5 - Router Make/ Model: Trendnet N600 Dual Band Router - Modem Make/ Model: Netgear 7550 Modem/ Router -OS: Lollipop - ISP: Frontier (6 Mbps DL DSL Connection ) - 4 devices on the network (3DS, tablet [also only detecting 5 ghz channel], S5, laptop)

    Ended up getting an Asus M5A99FX Pro R2.0 and runs everything like a charm. Someone please select my answer as a solution so this thread can be marked as solved, can't do it myself.
