    Advice on $2600 gaming computer - 1440p G-sync

Oops. I think I ordered the wrong type of CPU cooler, I think I need one of the Noctua NH-D instead of the NH-U. Guess I'll be sending that one back and ordering a different one :)

    Advice on $2600 gaming computer - 1440p G-sync

I like the idea of going a bit cheaper on the motherboard if it'll still work well for this build, and finding out that I'd only need 650 W instead of the 750 W power supply. The quieter noctua fans sound good too. Hmm, I might go with the quieter fans but not the sound dampened case to keep...

$1500 Gaming machine (my first build!)

$1500 Gaming machine (my first build!)

What does "reference designed card" mean? And by "any of the above", do you mean the ones previous to my post about the Sapphire card? Or do you mean any of the cards, including the Sapphire one?

$1500 Gaming machine (my first build!)

I found a Sapphire 7970 on sale for $369.99, I think I might go with that one instead unless anyone thinks that would be a mistake. :) http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=43_557_558&item_id=045020

$1500 Gaming machine (my first build!)

So, go for a sapphire video card instead...just better quality overall? Is the Gigabyte motherboard still okay?

$1500 Gaming machine (my first build!)

I don't really know much about power supplies, I took the OCZ one from a list of "most recommended" power supplies that was attached to one of the guides on here. Any reason why the one you recommended is better? For the 7970, are people basically saying that all of the video cards are going...
