Display driver stopped responding and has recovered

Hello everybody, Last night I was simply trying to do a simple text edit in Sony Vegas 12, while all of a sudden, the screen goes black for about 3 seconds and then I get an error message that says " Display driver stopped responding and has recovered." I am not a computer genius, but know...

"Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" error in Windows 7

I was running Sony Vegas 12 and just doing a simple simple text edit, and then" Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" error message pops up. Before it appears the screen goes black for a few seconds, PLEASE help me very soon! Thanks. Note:I'm not a computer genius so I would need...
