    Quick VPN Question

Evening, guys. I've got a quick question regarding setting up a VPN on a TP-Link TL-ER604W. Long story short, I'm currently at a university whose network prevents any form of port forwarding to the spare system have in my room. A few of my friends from home (who are now across the country)...

    mATX Tower Recommendations?

Silverstone makes their GD08, which can pack 13 hard drives and an eATX board in a case that's 17x17x8... I'd say it can be done, but I just don't see any that are available to me. I'd rather not have an external storage array. ...After four days of searching, I've come up with a few things...

    Storage Upgrade: RAID 5?

I'd have to say 2TB minimum, 3TB+ would be a welcomed upgrade, though. It took me a while to accumulate what I have right now, and I could probably clear out a reasonable chunk of that. I know a reasonable amount about WD's lineup, essentially going from blue through purple with XE, RE, and SE...

    Storage Upgrade: RAID 5?

I don't think my problem is going to be accidental deletion... I've been having a disgustingly high failure rate when it comes to PC equipment recently, without going into details. I'll be honest - right now, I'm a computer engineering student, and I'm not sure I can muster the money and space...

    Storage Upgrade: RAID 5?

Evening, gentlemen! I've got a bit of upgrading going on, mostly due to my no longer trusting a 1TB 2.5" laptop drive to act as my primary data storage. I have a budget of ~$250 for storage right now; I have a 256GB 840EVO for an OS/Boot drive which works just fine, but I've filled my little...

    mATX Tower Recommendations?

Evening, gentlemen! Long story short, I'm about to be doing some upgrading, and my little mini-ITX case isn't going to handle the storage array I plan on setting up. I have a 14"W x 18"D x 22"H space I'll be putting this system in - I can find NO mid-towers which support a full ATX motherboard...

Can I enable all 8 shader cores on GTX 760?

Nope. Those cores are disabled at a hardware level if I remember things right, and were either defective or have been disconnected from the GK104 die via laser/some other method and were effectively destroyed. There isn't any viable way to re-enable them - you've got a GTX 760 and nothing else.

    $1200 System, $1000 Upgrade Time

I could probably stretch out another $200 if absolutely needed, and a bit more if I wait until the tax return checks come back, but I doubt I could afford an all-out 2011 rebuild right now, at least with a Quadro. I do know, however, that most of the applications I use don't benefit directly...

    $1200 System, $1000 Upgrade Time

Evening, everyone! Right now, I have this system: CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1230v3, cooled by Noctua U12S GPU: EVGA Reference GTX 760 Motherboard: MSI H97I-AC (Mini-ITX) RAM: 2x8GB G.Skill Ripjaws-X DDR3-1600 PSU: Seasonic M12II-620W Storage: 1x Samsung 840 EVO 256Gb + 1TB HDD Case: Rosewill Legacy...

System Rebuild - Xeon E3-1230v3 Motherboard?

Evening, everyone! Back looking for a couple more opinions on the next part of my little system overhaul. Last thing that happened was my buying an Asus PB287 4K display, and the thing is beautiful... I'll never be able to go back to 1080p. The poor little GTX 760 has its hands full, but it's...

    4K through GTX 760?

It would be, but I'm already getting almost-acceptable performance at 4K through nVidia's DSR, and I think a second 760 would be perfectly fine. It would probably cost the same after I sold off my current 760, but just dropping in a second would be a lot less hassle. I respect that, on paper...

    4K through GTX 760?

Hey guys! Got the funds pulled together, and I actually have a 28" 4K display in the mail... can't wait to see how it compares to my current 24" 1080p monitor. It's a Dell model that I picked up for $500; almost spent the extra $300 on a 24" 4K UltraSharp, but my text already causes enough...

    GTX 760 Upgrade

I think that's a plan... the extra money will definitely be worth it for the VRAM alone, let alone power consumption and the occasional SLI-related issue. I might wait a paycheck and pick up a new PSU anyway and then call it a year; I have a 1080p monitor right now, but I'll be upgrading it to...

    GTX 760 Upgrade

Hey guys! I have a bit of a problem with not being able to decide what to do. I'm doing a system rebuild, and have everything decided but this. Right now, I run a 1920x1080p screen on one GTX 760, and am fairly happy with it, though there are a few things that don't run as fast as I'd like...

    Fractal R4 Case Alternatives?

Hey guys! I'm back looking for more opinions. I'm working on doing a rebuild from mini-ITX to an ATX mid-tower, and have already dropped off an order for a new motherboard and am waiting for a GTX 980 come in. Now I need a case. I REALLY like the looks of the 'titanium grey' Fractal R4 case...
