FWIW: I wound up backing up to an external drive, installing an IDE drive for the system drive (since I wanted to keep all 4 SATA connections for RAID 5), and restoring. Then I could make the RAID a GPT drive.

How did this work out? If you haven't built it yet, you might want to look a =slightly= larger MB that would give you a second PCI-E slot for a SATA card (straight PCI is going to limit your throughput more than you might like). For only a few dollars more, you might consider something along...
