Sound like you just need to adjust the fan curves, you can tell when the fans to ramp up when it hits a particular temperature. It maybe set in the BIOS where the fans are told to ramp up at the regular temperatures that you're use to.

A few MHz increase in speed isn't really going to matter. You seem to want to stick with 8GB's but get slightly faster clocked memory. Most people benefit from the amount of memory rather than the pure speed of it.

At 1080p, that 2080 isn't really getting a work out. And at that resolution you are more CPU bound than anything. If you can find a 5000 series Ryzen chip at standard or a decent retail price, i say go for it. But the current market is quite a mess.. and if you can't find a chip at standard...

This happened to me a long while back with a 1055T, i pulled the heatsink off while the thermal paste was still dry and ended up ripping the CPU out of it's socket. It ended up bending some of the pins and some eventually broke off when i went to straighten them.

As long as temps and performance is solid, i wouldn't worry about it.

Did you press the MemOK button on the board? That helps set the memory up to run with the board. Also using a 4x4GB kit isn't the best option as it tends to stress the memory controller. 2x8GB would be better

How do you read these time stamps? Here's a picture i have which is time stamped, but i don't get it.. is it 1/19/2003? And does that mean it was the date the photo was taken or processed in a lab?

Ryzen is a far better choice largely because of the reason you mentioned. If you can afford to enter a current platform, that's far more lucrative.
