    Best mobo (budget)

I use an MSI z170A SLI or PCMate. Good bang for the budgetary buck. I went PCMate because it was just cheaper and I don't plan on using SLI. The PCMate just isn't SLI capable everything else is about the same. I have i i7 6700k and gigabyte 1070. Pretty smooth so far (3months)

GTX 1070 getting 25 FPS in GTA 5 benchmark at Normal settings

I am having so much trouble but I have an i7 6700K. Using ge force optimal settings I only hit 60 fps. 1080p @ 60hz. That did solve your issue?

Upgrading to 1060/1070 - which one to choose?

In these situations the advice I give is to go best of breed, meaning the one with the higher performance. 1060 is good for the now but 1070 is essentially the future proofed version (as the 1080 is the future proofed of that but can't justify that price) I think down the line you'll be more...

Which GPU should I get 970/1060/1070?

For 1080p @ 60Hz the GTX 1060 will be ideal. Only get the 1070 if you think you will go 1440p at some point (in your case you want to future proof). As far as differences go I mean the 1070 have better performance, even on that 1080 @ 60hz monitor (more fps, better benchmarks etc)

Which GPU should I get 970/1060/1070?

The fact that you went with the i7 6700K I personally would go with the 1070 because A) Best of Breed B) High Return on Investment . In my opinion, you are essentially "future proofing". Only thing to upgrade in the future would be your monitor.

Do I need to upgrade to an i7 6700 k to get the best performance out of my 1070

I actually went from the i5 6600k to the i7 6700k. You could possibly bottleneck in some areas but I did so out of going "best of breed" not necessarily based on performance. That way with my 1070 I shouldn't have to upgrade anything for a while.
