News Nvidia RTX 4090 pricing is too high, while most other GPUs have held steady or declined in past 6 months — market analysis

The price can't be too high or they'd be sitting on shelves instead of sold out below $2200. Apparently I was a genius for buying one in a 13900K system for $2500 last month. It's awesome. Everything at 4k/ultra.

News Alienware's RTX 4090 laptop and desktop deals cost little more than the card itself.

The r15 with a 13900kf and a 4090, 32gb ram was $2500ish a bit over a month ago. Everyone wanted to tell me how awful alienware is because (checks notes) they were better before dell bought them 20 years ago. I've been enjoying it anyhow ever since then. Now 4090's are $2200ish, if you can...

News Alienware's Black Friday RTX 4090 Laptop Deal Costs Barely More Than the Card By Itself

Laptop 4090 <<< desktop 4090. Not even close to the same thing. Not a bad deal, but a little less BS to push it would be nice. We know they're all sponsored links.

News Intel E-Core-Only N100 Gaming Benchmarks Emerge

I've seen more benchmarks. Looks to have roughly the same performance as an 8th gen i5 quad core. tl;dr: Pretty good performance for a low wattage part considering that i5 is a 65w part. I'm interested in seeing how a 2 performance core, 16 efficiency core works out in general workloads.

News PCIe 5.0 SSDs Generates Errors, Shut Down Without Cooler: Fix On The Way

This. Heat problems with nvme drives without a heatsink showed up with the fastest gen 3 drives, and were a hard requirement for gen 4 drives. I've used one on a drive as a standard for about 3 years now. My favorite for gen 4 drives is the sabrent one that has a couple of heat pipes on it, and...

News Gamer Pairs RTX 4070 with Pentium. DLSS 3 Makes it Playable

I've watched his youtube channel for a long time. Very good. He often tries to get a playable experience from unexpected setups and often with just integrated graphics. What's the use? He was the guy who figured out that using DXVA, the directx to vulcan translation layer, would enable the...

News Radeon Driver Bug Corrupts Windows, AMD Shares Fix

It's a windows problem and it's been a long standing issue with drivers, requiring turning off auto updates? Not in my experience. I've had a bunch of machines on windows autoupdate with all sorts of drivers and I can't recall the last time I had an issue with that. Years. What I have had is...

News LinusTechTips: Buying Second-Hand GPUs Is a Good Idea, Even From Miners

I watched this video when it aired. The brief piece people should focus on is how they procured these gpus. Because it made the rest of the video useless. They bought cherry picked, ideal cards from a variety of sources. Clearly not the pressure washed and warehoused cards that so many are...

News De-Bloated Windows 11 Build Runs on 2GB of RAM

Surely one of the safest things that one could do is download a windows ISO that's been heavily modified, doesn't take updates, and who knows what got stuck in there? Love these windows reducers, but one can get a lot of reduction using a standard windows distribution. The tools are easy to use...

News AMD Polaris GPUs Stumble Over Forspoken’s DX12 Feature Requirements

The 1060 came out a year earlier than the RX580. The 580 was being sold against the 1650 at one point. Both of those cards will run the game.

News Mini PC With Off-Roadmap Intel Processor N95 Chip Appears at Retail

I've tinkered around with N5095 and N5105 boxes before, and the "N95" sounds suspiciously like the 5095, which also sports a higher TDP than the N5105, 16 gpu eu's instead of 24, etc. Far from "grandpas computer", the 5105 with 24 eu's was an excellent performer while the 5095 disappointed...

Clearly they applied far too much cheese. Even though that concept doesn't exist.
