I have just re-installed Windows 8...... I may try to slipstream all win7 service packs later and see of that works. I is a driver issue... I could not find the correct windows 7 chipset drivers. Thanx to all who jumped in here to help...

I am having trouble locating the exact chipset for this model. The SATA driver is the issue and Shneiky, you are correct I believe. Just different chipset version. Does anyone know exactly which chipset the TouchSmart 14 Sleekbook has? I have been looking everywhere on HP site and elsewhere.

HP is all about their money. Is there anyway I could install the OS on the drive with a different machine and then replace the drive and then the OS automatically load the generic drivers?
