    help picking monitor for gaming

Don't take Horizon 3 as your benchmark for performance since it is, despite the multiple patches that have been applied to it, a very unoptimized game. The thing is, when you consider the size of the monitor compared to your current TV, 2k is more than enough since pixel size will be much...

    help picking monitor for gaming

Are you aiming to get a higher framerate at a lower resolution or just get a better response time and input lag number? Yes, you would have to reduce screen size quite a bit, but if you're having issues with responsiveness, I would suggest going for the monitor. I'm no expert in the topic so i'm...

Why Dosent My Lockes Monitor Hrz Apply to certain games

I wouldn't go that far and say you will have to just deal with it, but unfortunately your monitor uses an adaptive sync technology exclusive to AMD cards, so you will have to use v-sync to avoid tearing. Have you tried setting the refresh rate via Windows?

Why Dosent My Lockes Monitor Hrz Apply to certain games

Can you give me more detail on the monitor and gpu you are using? If by any chance your monitor has adaptive sync that matches your gpu you might not need v-sync at all.

    High Resolution Monitor Suggestions

If you are just watching high-res movies I would put more attention on the type of panel rather than the resolution. 1080/1440p will do just fine. If you are aiming for 4k I would suggest going for a tv instead, which will give you a bigger screen at less cost than a monitor equivalent. Also...

    Samsung cfg70 144hz monitor

You'll have to use v-sync to avoid it. (edit: didn't read you have an nvidia card). You could limit the monitor to a reachable framerate for your nvidia, and activate vsync, or simply activate vsync to mitigate the screen tearing, but fps drops will be not pleasant.

    60hz vs 75hz?

It will not harm your monitor in any way, and you will notice a slight difference in gaming. Make sure you use a video cable that supports your resolution and refresh rate.

Why Dosent My Lockes Monitor Hrz Apply to certain games

What software did you use to lock the monitor refresh rate? Most games will override your setting and go for the monitor max value which is 144hz.

Undecided about which monitor to buy...

It is worth noting both of those Acers use TN panels. The Samsung uses a PLS/IPS panel. Response time is not really an issue if you are just a casual gamer. I would go for the Samsung.

Do any of you use this connector?

So are you telling me an usb connection is preferred over an spdif or a 3.5?

https://imgur.com/a/431oq I know what it does, but i can't seem to find a single person that uses it. Why is it so unpopular?
