I would check the temps while the benchmark is running, sometimes cards can get hot and throttle back performance.

Get the 380, it will perform better. I wouldn't generally worry about the vram at your standard 1920x1080, Vram never really became an issue for me until I started doing 3440x1440, then the 4gb on my previous card was put to use.
