Yes, you need to have a think while you look at the hsf / board etc, as until it is mounted correctly you are going to boil up on the cpu temps. You will know when you have it right because the temps will drop.

The instructions per cycle is poor on an amd cpu, and they are already running fast. There isnt a lot of percentage left in the cpu's. But once you start down that road you are committed to aftermarket coolers and high end motherboards. You save ah heck all, and still dont get the same gaming...

Notice there is nothing from amd in the top tier ,but even the slowest clocked i5 2300 from 3 years ago is in the top tier. A haswell 4440 is 20% more powerful than a 2300 so there is no way the AMD stuff can compete.
