    Good device choice, shouldn't have carrier-branded apps to confuse. I'm a fan of Android's stock dialer, etc., but I don't know how old/capable your dad is. There are several android launchers for seniors that turn the device into a very basic interface with gigantic, clearly-labeled buttons...
