    CPUs: GHz or Cores?

Modern day titles are utilizing more and more of your CPU. Today's programs and games will always benefit from more cores. If you think about it mathematically there is a bit of a connection - picture 4 cores at 4.0Ghz. That is 16Ghz total processing power. Now picture 6 cores at 3.8, nearly...

    Overclocked CPU Causing Choppy Gameplay?

No temps stay below 50C, I have 21C margin according to AMD OverDrive. I'm using CPU-Z Hardware Monitor, CoreTemp, and Speccy for temps. They all read the same below 50C.

    Overclocked CPU Causing Choppy Gameplay?

Hello Tom's! I just overclocked my FX-4130. I have it up to 4.3 right now stable ( haven't tried higher). I booted up BF3 and gameplay is suddenly VERY choppy. Somewhat like ping lag, but everything is choppy (map, etc.) I tried with V-Synce on/off, changing settings to low, etc. Is it possible...

is this good for average gaming

Average game on max for sure, games like BF4 will probably play 60fps 1080p with high settings and possible no AA. - Caleb

How much of a difference is there between these MB?

Keep in mind the only multi GPU support for both boards is CrossfireX, which is AMD cards.

How much of a difference is there between these MB?

The only really notiecable difference is the number of ports. The Gigabyte has 2 more usb 2.0 ports and one extra pci express x1 slot. That's about it honestly.

Are these idle temps good or not

    What graphics card to get?

I don't think you would get a playable atmosphere 24/7, and definitely not with new releases in the next year or so. I would suggest saving up a little more and going with a GTX 760 or 770 or an r9 270x.

    Which GPU is better?

With a clock difference of about 20-30, the decision maker is the companies and the cooler. EVGA is a more reputable company for sure. Check out the 760 from EVGA I linked, I really think that's a better choice if you're already spending 200.

Are these idle temps good or not

The H60 is a great idea and will definitely lower CPU temps. May I suggest a different case? That one appears to be a bit cheap, and there are many others that I think look more visually appealing! - Caleb

    Which GPU is better?

I would suggest the Asus. The difference is mainly in the build style. With two fans the Asus is a great choice, performance-wise you won't see a difference between the two cards but the Asus should stay cooler. Also, if you have an extra 40. May I point you towards the GTX 760 ->...

    Gigabyte GA-Z87X-OC Force -- 3x PCIe 3.0 x16, 6 x USB 3.0, 2 x HDMI, 1 x DisplayPort

Definitely, one 780ti will be PLENTY for modern gaming. I only suggested two if you were looking for the 4gb in two cards! Go with one for now and upgrade when you see fit! - Caleb
