    HDD Bad Partitions

I'm having an issue were my HDD someone has corrupted partitions from a botched linux install. I cant seem to delete, format, or recover these partitions. Does anyone have a suggestion on software I may use. Disc management in windows has proved to be useless as well as Ubuntu's disc manager...

DICE Talks Battlefield 3 Console/PC Differences

The reality is that console gamers will not notice the difference. All they care about is plug and play and a "new" experience. So dumbing it down on the console will still sell and make them the majority of the money. Be thankful that they are working on making the PC version great. LOL @ 24...

Bringing Home The Bass: 2.1-Channel Speaker Roundup

computertech82funny how my $40 20 year old 2.1 speakers probably sound just as good as these $200+ things.... If "just as good" means "just as bad" Then I may agree. What speakers do you have?

Bringing Home The Bass: 2.1-Channel Speaker Roundup

Nice article, but I have to say, everyone one of those sets has horrid frequency response... Its just bad! Honestly, the money is better spent on headphones with better response. I run an older 5.1 receiver, connected to some used Ascends. Total cost is about $250 and it trumps this garbage in...

    30" 25x16 or 3x 1920x1200

That is true. 3x 1080p is 50% more resolution than the 30". I know it doesn't scale that well, but my 5870 ran a single 1080p screen perfectly. I'm actually starting to lean towards the large plasma. I think it would get more use for the money. Thanks for the replies.

    30" 25x16 or 3x 1920x1200

All very good points. I was using a 32" 1080p screen on my desktop 2' away. Sharpness is not a huge deal for me. Thanks for the response.

    30" 25x16 or 3x 1920x1200

Hey everyone. I would like the opinion of what you would do. Rig Core i7 920 5870 (Maybe add a 5970 or 2 more 5870's?) 6gb ram. If you where to do some gaming, would you prefer a Single 30" 2560x1600 screen? ~$1000 Or 3 x 24" (ish) 1920x1200 screens? ~$1000 I have done some...

Linux Needs to Master Hardware to Beat Windows

kyeanaFYI, ive been using linux for a while (arch linux mind you, one where you have to set everything up manually), and no the ATI linux drivers are not there yet. Sure some cards work, but by no means all of them. I have 2 4850's at the moment, and regardless of which driver i use (the open...

Linux Needs to Master Hardware to Beat Windows

kyeanaWhat we really need is ATI linux drivers. If we could get that i would be very content. Ummm... I just installed the newest Mint. ATI drivers out of the box, supporting HDMI audio. What more could you ask for? People who are to stupid to learn the terminal commands, have no business...

Run Ethernet Over Your Coax TV Cable

I work for a major ISP, and we run Ethernet over coax all the time. Its a huge money saver, and it is a great application to use when existing coax is the best option and wireless doesn't function well. That and our Home Link plug that uses the house power lines. Its the same communication...

    4870x2 good for my resolution?

Hi everyone! I've been watching lately and I've noticed that my display's resolution is commonly left out for benchmarks. I seem to do a fair job of extrapolating the performance that I would see based on my resolution, but I would like everyone's opinion none the less. I have a Sharp...
