Discussion Is anyone besides me going to miss Windows 10 ?

Sadly, you are so right. But I guess that's progress.

Oh, I do too. The only difference is I do notice a difference.

Discussion Is anyone besides me going to miss Windows 10 ?

I've used every MS Windows O.S. from back when it was just a DOS-Shell up to today's Win 11. Of all the renditions of Windows prior and post up to the present, I still like W10 the best. Yes, the very early versions were crude and buggy; and probably shouldn't count. But by the time say...

Question DDR3 SODIMM to DIMM Adapters Question

Thanks. That got me looking. Linus made a video about these as well, but in the DDR4 version. This doesn't seem to be exactly a 100% sure-thing however. But at least they aren't super expensive.

Question DDR3 SODIMM to DIMM Adapters Question

Yeah, I read the double-sided/single-sided issue as well, but forgot to add that question. I didn't have any particular adapters in mind, COLGeek and Lutfij. I just checked them out for the first time today on A__z_n. > Link A couple of these seemed as good as any to me... ? If...

Question DDR3 SODIMM to DIMM Adapters Question

I was looking to get a couple of the above adapters for use in testing the rebuilds and troubleshooting I find myself doing. Mostly I work with older stuff, so I'm looking at DDR3 adapters; at least for now. I've never used these before, so I have a question... Sometimes the adapters are...

Question Why does The Adrenalin driver software interface sit open whenever my PC wakes from sleep?

I noticed this just started happening sometime after either a video driver update or a W11 update occurred. (they both happened around the same time) Not sure if that has anything to do with it. When the PC is awaken from sleep mode (hibernation), the AMD Adrenalin interface is always sitting...

Question Buffalo LS210CFC NAS blinking an error code. Anyone know what it means.

Thanks kanewolf. Turned out it was a "backup job failed" error. But I didn't have a backup job set. (?) Nevertheless, deleting the disabled backup job cleared up the error. (y)

Question Buffalo LS210CFC NAS blinking an error code. Anyone know what it means.

My NAS began blinking out an apparent Error code (red light). It is 5-long followed by 4 -short. That translates to 5x10 + 4x1 or 54 if I remember their scheme correctly. But I don't know what error that refers to. My manual doesn't go into that part. The NAS still functions as normal, but...

Question Black screen when using RX 470, but works fine with integrated graphics ?

If you're using a PSU's SATA power cable to feed the 8-pin PCIE connector on the GTX 470, it may have burned up a pin or two. The SATA power connector is only rated for a few watts because of its tiny pins. 15W, I think.

Question Black screen when using RX 470, but works fine with integrated graphics ?

You wrote: "The problem started a month ago, where the monitor displays a black screen when connected to the graphics card using a VGA cable." The Sapphire RX 470 has no analog (VGA) output. It only provides digital output.

Question Black screen when using RX 470, but works fine with integrated graphics ?

Assuming the card and PC were working happily together before, I think we can rule out incompatibility. Do you have any other input option to your monitor? DVI, HDMI, DP? Maybe I better first ask, which RX 470 (make/model) are you using?

    Question Will a GTX 1050 Ti work with a Ryzen 3 3200G ?

If the psu has a 6-pin connector, there's a really good chance it will be fine as long as you do not OC anything. If the GTX 1050 Ti doesn't require a 6-pin, all the better.

Question Can i run a RX 550 No issues like this?

I'm confused. You say you don't want to open his PC to look at the PSU nameplate, but you'll have to open it to install the graphics card. Are you going to wait until the warranty expires and then open it to install the card? A good quality 350W PSU should have a 6-pin connector and be able...
