the intel tool box recommends cleaning with trim once a week, but if you don't install and delete much once a month may be fine, trim is really only needed when the drive starts to get full, otherwise you really won't notice anything,

Glad it worked, mine will not even post with the 530 alone hooked up, I just installed win7 in UEFI mode but I'm still running raid0 so everything works fine,

did it have a recovery partition, or have you make recovery DVD's need modal number,

well found out it's the 2281 sandforce controller and that's what the 530 uses, and intel has chosen not to fix the problem with a firmware update, at least as of now, I have the latest bios and firmware installed, but it works as long as it's running in raid so i'll just sell it off to...
