How are prices of Radeon 8500LE? I've noticed that prices have plummeted as vendors make way for the 9000 (Hey, it's newer & it has a higher number so it must be better). If it's in your price range then get it since it performs better than 9000Pro.
Radeon 7200 is better. Radeon 7000 ddr is 64-bit while 7200 sdr is 128-bit so memory bandwidth is the same. Radeon 7200 has a t&l unit & two texture units. Radeon 7000 has no t&l and only one texture unit.
I have an UDMA66 hdd, a UDMA100 hdd & a dvd-rom. If I connect the 2 hdd on the same IDE channel, will the UDMA100 hdd be held back by the UDMA66 hdd? Or should i put the UDMA66 hdd with the dvd-rom drive?
Are you sure the PIII 1.13GHz is a coppermine? Intel sspec <A HREF="http://processorfinder.intel.com/scripts/details.asp?sSpec=SL5LT&ProcFam=25&PkgType=ALL&SysBusSpd=ALL&CorSpd=ALL" target="_new">SL5LT</A> & <A...
Well the cpu will be the bottleneck so you'll be holding back the Ti4600. The Ti4600 will increase the performance (maybe double or triple the frame rates?) but i suspect that a GF2 Ti will serve equally well at your current cpu speed.
Just get a card (min. geforce2 ti) with 64Mb onboard RAM. It doesn't matter if you run it at AGP1x, 2x or 4x the preformance difference will be negligible between 4x & 1x since the textures will load onto the onboard RAM & the AGP bus won't even touch system RAM.
I want to use a copper based cooler on an Asus slotket but those things weigh about 400g, not sure if the slotket will take it. Also how much power does a mobo fan connector deliver. Thanks.
Is DMA on the dvd-rom enabled? I used to own a PII 350 & it ran powerdvd perfectly fine (if what edwpang says about the cyrix being equivalent to PII 400 is correct). And i had a much worse graphics card was than yours - a TNT2 M64.
23.11 gave me about 320 points increase in 3dmark2001 but in actual gameplay it was really jerky. When i turned on the comp the next day it locked up with these multiple colored stripes vertically down the screen. 23.11 was a disaster on my system.
