News After just 12 days, Nintendo is already nuking Switch 2 consoles for players caught using Mig Flash — popular cartridge allows Switch 1 games on th...

Can the console still receive console firmware and software updates? Can the game receive patches? If not, then I consider the console nuked. There are games like Hogwarts Legacy that require an online download before you can play the game, otherwise you can only play the first 30 minutes or so...

My week with Linux: I'm dumping Windows for Ubuntu to see how it goes

Funny how the experiment is to try Linux. You pick the distro. Everyone tells you that you picked the "wrong" one because the one they use is the "right" one. This is the problem with Linux. Tribalism. Then there's the software that goes with it. You want office. Get Libre or some other knock...

News AMD boasts its Ryzen AI Max+ 395 is up to 12.2x faster than Lunar Lake in AI workloads

You can tell by reading through the comments, who's into running local LLMs and who's not or doesn't really understand how they work and the significance. It's ok, I was there once too. I agree this comparison is a bit misleading, but the processor is a rather impressive for a small form factor...

News S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2: Heart of Chornobyl and MSFS 2024 arrive next week — here are the system requirements and driver details

Looks like it's more CPU bound, look how there's little improvement among the top three GPUs.

News Core Ultra 9 285K retail samples benchmarked in CPU-Z and Blender — thermal throttling and limited clock speeds spoil the fun

I'm curious to see how the 285K will perform against an underclocked and undervolted 14900K, particularly in terms of power draw. AMD positioned the Ryzen 9XXX series as more efficient than the 7XXX series through its naming strategy. However, once comparisons between the 9700X and 7700 were...

News EmuDeck retro gaming mini-PC crowd funder ends in tears after ‘nobody bought it’

It was wildly overpriced. You get the same specs with a Z1 Extreme handheld for $450 today. That's something you can take with you and play anywhere, then dock if you want to use it on a monitor or TV. The idea was fine, but the cost was way too high.

Review Thermalright Peerless Assassin 140 review: Another banger

They don't miss. I've almost converted everything in my house to Thermalright. I've got a 360mm AIO in my main PC, my daughter's is a Phantom Spirit (which is insanely quiet), my racing sim PC has a Peerless Assassin, and all that is left is my wife's which I'm going to upgrade to something low...

Review Noctua NH-D15 G2 Review: not worth $150

Noctua fanboys are gonna be foaming at the mouth. Thermalright has shown that Noctua has always been overpriced. BUt tHE EnGiNeeRiNG! Please, you can't hear the difference between this cooler and a Phantom Spirit. A decibel meter can pick up the difference, but not your ear.

    Get $200 off Dell's stunning Alienware AW3225QF 32-inch 240Hz 4K OLED gaming monitor

Waiting for this one to hit $799; that's also the price I got the 3440x1440 QDOLED from Alienware.

News Qualcomm spends millions on marketing as it is found better battery life, not AI features, is driving Copilot+ PC sales

I'm sure companies like Microsoft and OpenAI have figured out by now that AI isn't something that needs to be front and center, but rather just a tool in the shed like any other software or app.

Best PC Speakers: From Budget to Audiophile Bliss

Besides the Audioengine speakers, the rest of these are terrible audio quality and not at all the best speakers at those prices. ELAC and SWAN make some of the best powered speakers from $80 to $400, they should be on this list replacing some of these plastic speakers.

Review ID-Cooling FX360 Pro Review: Very good for $60

Use the fan control settings in your BIOS. There's usually some sort of quiet mode or you can set it manually.

Review ID-Cooling FX360 Pro Review: Very good for $60

Thermalright has a $55 and $65 360MM AIO. I just bought the more expensive one to replace a Peerless Assassin, haven't hooked it up yet, but the build quality feels legitimate.

Review Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO Review: This isn’t a competition. This is a massacre.

I got a Peerless Assassin and upgraded the fans to Arctic P12 PWM fans. It's quieter now and the two fans were $12 total.

Alienware 34-inch curved OLED gaming monitor now just $749 at Best Buy

I have this monitor, went from an LG C1 4K OLED to it, and I really didn't see any degradation in quality. Excellent monitor.
