Computer doesn't POST, or even turn on at all

Can confirm, was the motherboard. Now everything works fine! It even fixed a few other problems that I previously thought were unrelated, like the temporary lag I used to get at every startup. Only problem was, I had to reinstall windows, since the mouse and keyboard drivers for this motherboard...

Computer doesn't POST, or even turn on at all

Alright then. That settles it - I'll buy a new motherboard as soon as I can and update you guys if I make any progress. Thanks a lot for your time and effort, Rogue Leader. I appreciate it :)

Computer doesn't POST, or even turn on at all

Unfortunately, I don't have a spare processor available, so I can't test that out. And from what I know, even with no/bad CPU and RAM, the computer should still at least POST, right? Since everything currently points to a bad motherboard, I'll go get a new one and see if that works. But I'm...

Computer doesn't POST, or even turn on at all

This build is a little less than 2 years old, and it ran pretty reliably, apart from the occasional short lag that occurs every time I boot up the computer, but I assumed that's there for everyone, so I just ignored it. A few days ago, I tried reseating the CPU and reapplying the thermal paste...

Computer doesn't POST, or even turn on at all

Okay, no luck with the RAM sticks. The CPU and ATX cables were also fully connected, so no problems there. However, occasionally, the computer decides to boot up. Sometimes it lasts until you turn it back off, and other times it turns on for about a second, then loses power and goes idle again...

Computer doesn't POST, or even turn on at all

I'll do those right away. But just curious, if there's a defective CPU, should the computer still POST?

Computer doesn't POST, or even turn on at all

Ah, whoops. I forgot to mention, the lights on the motherboard DO light up. But that's as far as it goes to show any sign of power entering the motherboard. Hitting the power switches on the case and motherboard do absolutely nothing. Sorry for forgetting to point that out, and thanks for the...

Computer doesn't POST, or even turn on at all

Hello, Tom's Community! I currently have a problem with my custom built computer, where neither the case power button nor the motherboard reset button will turn on the system. I'd like some help identifying the malfunctioning hardware that's causing this failure. This problem has actually...

Overclocked GPU stable in stress tests, but crashes ingame

Well, I just did a bit more info digging, and found out that apparently, this game can't handle overclocked GPU cards yet. I don't know how it's like this, but I've found multiple people who're getting the same problems. Thanks for the help, though. It's very appreciated :)

Overclocked GPU stable in stress tests, but crashes ingame

I was playing Star Citizen, which is probably a better stress test than both FurMark and Valley run simultaneously. I swear, that game knows how to REALLY push your system. I'll investigate it further, because I was able to pass with only a core overclock of 50MHz (no memory overclock), with...

Overclocked GPU stable in stress tests, but crashes ingame

Hi, everybody! I've overclocked my GPU's clock speed and memory clock speed, both by an offset of 100. I ran FurMark with these speeds and didn't see any artifacts, so I didn't think I needed to increase the voltage or power limit. So right now, the voltage is at its stock. Now whenever I'm...

    Ideal stress test temperatures

Ohhh, I understand everything now. I'll try and push my processor to around 4.2 and see if that works... Thanks a bunch, CompuTronix, and have a great Christmas :D

    Ideal stress test temperatures

Version 26.6? :O Then I did it wrong. I just redid the test and got these results: Core 0- 56|Max 58 Core 1- 57|Max 58 Core 2- 56|Max 58 Core 3- 51|Max 52 Ambient Temperature- 19 Does this seem about right to you guys? Sorry for my incompetence xD
