News Elon Musk confirms xAI is buying an overseas power plant and shipping the whole thing to the U.S. to power its new data center — 1 million AI GPUs...

It can be argued that this actually saves a lot of energy as the work performed often could require many people many days. Also natural gas is among the cleanest methods for large scale power generation.

News Elon Musk's massive AI data center gets unlocked — xAI gets approved for 150MW of power, enabling all 100,000 GPUs to run concurrently

Training these models with that much compute is vastly faster than before. Especially now that they've got the efficiency up on the software side for scaling.

News Elon Musk's massive AI data center gets unlocked — xAI gets approved for 150MW of power, enabling all 100,000 GPUs to run concurrently

His businesses Paypal, Tesla, SpaceX, Boring and others are all highly successful. Hyperloop was an concept he gave out for others to develop. (for free btw)

News Using GPT-4 to generate 100 words consumes up to 3 bottles of water — AI data centers also raise power and water bills for nearby residents

Water is not "consumed" when using it for cooling. At most it evaporates then condensed again when the concentrations are high enough. The sun shining on our oceans is the king of this natural process with a few billion times more evaporation than all networks cause on the entire planet...

News Intel Reveals Specifications For Arc Alchemist Desktop GPUs

Sadly it looks like Arc is already discontinued. i.e. I wish Intel could have stuck it out and competed with AMD and NV in the discrete business. Lots of articles today about how they decided not to go forward with it those interested can do a search.

News Intel's Arc A380 Shows Good Compatibility Across 50 Games

They just need to work on making Arc competitive in performance. I'm glad for another competitor but doesn't seem to be any compelling reason to buy one of these instead of an AMD or Nvidia GPU.

News Pimax's Next-Generation Reality 12K QLED VR Headset Defies Belief

Wow you are always wrong. Like a 0% hit rate. Here is the actual SMPTE ST 2036–1 standard for 8K Resolution: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/8K_resolution Scroll down to the list. You will note the exact resolution used in the 8KX IS indeed listed and indeed defined as 8K according to the...

News Pimax's Next-Generation Reality 12K QLED VR Headset Defies Belief

Incorrect, look at their Pimax Frontier video at the end. 3rd try here. Last 40 seconds of their video. It has decent explanation of the extra internal projectors resolution. It seems you are commenting without even watching their provided information. It's at 1:05 and 48 seconds. Here is the...

Review Varjo Aero Review: What the Future Looks Like

A quote like that could only come from someone who has never even tried good VR. It was absolutely mind blowing the first time I tried it, just shocking really.

News Pimax's Next-Generation Reality 12K QLED VR Headset Defies Belief

No, at the end they have a section called "one more thing" where they show the center of the screen is close to 6000ppi and 70ppd using a high resolution projector for the center of the screen. So you are incorrect.

News Pimax's Next-Generation Reality 12K QLED VR Headset Defies Belief

It's actually MUCH HIGHER than 6k. They also show at the end with the "one more thing" the headset includes a 6000PPI FRD display for the center region of the display. That area is extremely high resolution.

Review Pimax Vision 8K Plus Review: Ultrawide VR Headset

I have the 8KX and it included the SMAS. When I received the kickstarter box from pimax I upgraded the audio of my 8kX to the KDMAS speakers. Long story short - I love it.

News Varjo VR-3 and XR-3 VR Headsets Raise the Resolution Bar With Bionic Displays

So the VArjo vr-3 is 70ppd in the inner 27 degrees and about 12ppd outside of that. I get 35.6ppd for the Pimax 8KX. Their 8kx is different than their other headsets as the signal is not scaled and they say the panel utilization is over 95%.

Tested: Nvidia’s Variable Rate Supersampling Doesn’t Deliver on its Promises (Yet)

Once again why would anyone who is hitting 100% of their target framerate run VRSS? The testing TH did is pointless as obviously enabling things like VRSS will have some overhead and TH has proven the obvious. Show us what it can do when you can't hit your fr target that is specifically the...

Tested: Nvidia’s Variable Rate Supersampling Doesn’t Deliver on its Promises (Yet)

I don't understand what your article is intended to prove. Why would you test VRSS in situations where you are always hitting 100% of your target frame rate ***without VRSS enabled. Doesn't that completely defeat the purpose of the test? It's as if you are attempting to measure the overhead of...
