Question T7 Shield ssd indicator light is always blinking

Alrighty, update for anyone who may experience this issue. What ultimately fixed this for me was installing the Samsung Magician software that came included with the drive. This immediately resulted in normal functionality of the light.

Question T7 Shield ssd indicator light is always blinking

I dont believe it is search indexing (or atleast the thing I checked in control panel doesn't seem to indicate that it is). I should've mentioned that I do not have the included drive management software from Samsung installed.

Question T7 Shield ssd indicator light is always blinking

I purchased a T7 shield external ssd and have noticed that the blue led it has is constantly blinking from the moment I plug it in until the moment I eject the drive. Now, the default behavior for this drive should be a solid blue light unless something is being accessed on the drive. In my...

Question Integrity of the OneDrive folder located in my Users directory, and the overall functionality of OneDrive, after using 'Reset this PC'

I do have my most important files on an external solid state drive, and intend to keep only archival files in Onedrive along with their local copies. But my concern is not for my personal files and how the reset impacted them (because they are all where they should be), my concern is that...

Question Integrity of the OneDrive folder located in my Users directory, and the overall functionality of OneDrive, after using 'Reset this PC'

There was only one single local file in the directory at the time I did this, a text doc I put in as a test from earlier. All of my important files were set to be online only at the time. I had also, I believe, unlinked and possibly even uninstalled the OneDrive application prior to attempting...

Question Integrity of the OneDrive folder located in my Users directory, and the overall functionality of OneDrive, after using 'Reset this PC'

tl;dr: I messed up the OneDrive folder located at Users/Username/OneDrive in some way that resulted in registry stuff being displayed in an error popup, and am concerned that any 'damage' I caused to that folder, or it's deeper connection to the OneDrive application or OS, may have survived the...

Question Laptop making constant noise when Idle

Okay, another update: After using safe mode indicated that a third party software was potentially the culprit, I have been systematically disabling the startup on a variety of services. What I have found so far is that disabling AWCCService (Alienware Command Center) seems to have noticeably...

Question Laptop making constant noise when Idle

Alrighty, so a quick update: As a test, I booted my PC in safe mode and noticed that the sound that I am describing was no longer present until I rebooted back into normal mode. This would seem to imply that some software is resulting in the noise, rather than a hardware issue such as coil...

Question Laptop making constant noise when Idle

Yeah, it's a bit difficult without headphones, though definitely present in the recording. What I'm hearing sounds kind of like the sounds the computer makes when loading something, a series of chirping sort of electric scratch noises.

Question Laptop making constant noise when Idle

My setup is: Alienware Area51m R2 laptop with: -Intel Core i7-10700 @ 2.90GHz -Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super (possibly mobile version since laptop, though windows won't specify) -Windows 10 Home version 22H2 I'll need to dig a little deeper for more specific answers on the ram, motherboard...

Question Laptop making constant noise when Idle

When idle (as in just sitting on the desktop with no software open), my laptop seems to make a constant electric 'chirping' sound that happens in second-long intervals (stopping for a brief moment between intervals). It is hard to describe the sound, but it's like an electric scraping(?) that...

Question Power losses - should i worry about my setup?

I do. Unfortunately, I was in the process of backing my drive up when this all happened. My external was plugged in at the time. I also keep stuff on the cloud. That doesn't answer the question though, which is whether or not I need to be concerned about my main drive. So far, the response...

Question Power losses - should i worry about my setup?

When you say I'm right to be concerned, do you mean it in a 'I should make changes going forwards' kind of way, or a 'I should be concerned about damages that just happened' kind of way? My primary concern is my files, and while I don't see any immediately recognizable issues, there are...

Question Power losses - should i worry about my setup?

So would it be obvious if something catastrophic happened, or will I just have to wonder for the foreseeable future. Would all instances of power outages necessarily result in damaging power surges for PCs?

Question Power losses - should i worry about my setup?

We had several power losses in quick succession yesterday (flickering lights a few times) while my laptop was plugged in. It uses two power cords and was also plugged into my external monitor. Now, both laptop cords are themselves plugged into a surge protector, but the monitor is not. My...
