R9 280. Wouldn't go above that...Would bottleneck a 285 and GTX 960.

Update you BIOS. Update your Driver to the Beta. Check your power consumption. Had this problem for about 5 months with a GTX 760 and I had to underclock it to get the error message to go away. Hope the above will help.

Go with an R9 285. Beats out the GTX 960 and will throw you a couple more frames ultra at 1080p and at a resolution of 1960X1080. Probably will save you some money for other things.
