    Overclocking my FX 6300

You current temps are pretty good, if you plan to stick with this overclock then I wouldn't worry about to much. But if you were to swap it out, then you'd be able to crank the speeds down a bit while maintaining the same temperature for less noise. If you're wanting to push the OC further...

    Overclocking my FX 6300

Well I feel a little dumb (happens a lot), I was just doing a little playing around, and while I set the NB freq to different settings, it's locked at 2200Mhz, it won't go up or down. I'm going to swap out Mobo's here in a couple days anyway, and so I'll do more testing then. So in short, the...

Formatting my Hard Drive (NEED ASSISTANCE)

Do you know your product key? If so, would changing to windows 10 be an option for you? Just do a clean install of windows 10 and give it your 8.1 product key, that should format your drive and give you a clean install of windows.

[SOLVED] Student in Desperate Need of MacBook Air help

If the ISO file has been put onto the USB drive correctly. Then shut down the computer, plug the USB drive in, then start up the computer and hold down 'alt/options' key, you should see the USB stick as an option, select it and then you should be asked whether you want to install it or preview...

[SOLVED] Student in Desperate Need of MacBook Air help

I'm not sure what the official method of recovery is, so hopefully someone else can comment on that. But what I've done in the past is download the Linux Ubuntu ISO, load it onto a USB flashdrive (using ISOtoUSB software), the plug the flashdrive into the dead computer and boot into linux off...

AMD build approval (parts going into an emachines t5274a)

Ahhh OK, hadn't even thought about availability. Well if it's any correlation, I just clocked my 8320 to 4.2Ghz @ 1.4 which IIRC is stock turbo on the 8350 and it stabilized at 52°C CPU temp with the push/pull 212 evo. So the 212 X is a still a good option for you. When you say "mount another...

    Overclocking my FX 6300

"Thanks! So 4.5 Ghz would be enough?" Seriously though, that's up to you. You can try upping the multiplier one more click, but there's no telling how much you'll have to up the voltage in order to make it stable. You do have a considerable amount of headroom in the temperature...

what is safe min volt for ryzen 1700...???

CPU Frequency (CPU Ghz) gets you speed. CPU voltage (CPU Vcore) makes that speed stable. So if you are stable in all 3 of your settings, then pick the one with the least voltage.

That's Awesome. Sounds like you've got a pretty decent overclock!

what is safe min volt for ryzen 1700...???

There is no set "Safe Min Voltage". The higher the overclock, the more voltage you'll need. To confirm that your settings work you need to stress test the CPU with something like Prime95, IntelBurnTest or OCCT. If it's stable, you can either up the multiplier or decrease the voltage a notch...

    Overclocking my FX 6300

51°C is very good assuming it's correct. Admittedly, I'm a little hesitant to believe that number as I'd expect it to be a little hotter with it running at over 1.4V. My opinion would still be to try Installing AMD Overdrive just to be sure that your temp reading is correct.

    Overclocking my FX 6300

    1. I don't know if there is an official max voltage for that chip, but 1.475 max seems to be a widely excepted limit. As far as the lowest, if your system is stable, then either turn down the voltage a notch or bump up the muliplier one notch and test again, keep doing that until it's unstable...

AMD build approval (parts going into an emachines t5274a)

Aww, OK. Makes Sense! When you said "adapter" I assumed it was for converting to a different connector type. Another consideration. The CM Hyper 212X is rated at 158mm tall. I just checked my converted Dell comp and the maximum it would support is ~154mm cooler. Yours may be different, but...
