I got it to work. It was a driver issue. I uninstalled and re-installed an older driver and it works fine now.

No. The laptop and PS4 work fine through the switch. It is just the desktop that won't work through the switch. Also the router isn't in the same room, I can't run another cable from the router to the other room.

So neither of these answers explain why everything works fine on my laptop. And leaving it connected to the router is not an option because then I wouldn't be able to have more than one device connected at a time.

If I connect my desktop to the router everything works fine. If I connect my switch to the router and the computer to the switch the internet doesn't work. No lights light up on the switch or the network card. And the network icon shows in the task bar that nothing is plugged in. It works fine...

thanks for all the help guys. i havnt done any stress testing but i played wow for a few hours and it stayed at about 47-48c. i might stress test it later today to make sure it will be fine. thanks for all your input and flow ideas
