I just bought an rx580 and realized my i5 4590 is a bottleneck on my performance, especially on Assassin's Creed Odyssey, what CPU could keep up with the card that has the LGA 1150 slot?

I've never had a problem with thermal throttling but my case is the Corsair Carbide Spec-03, and my fan is the Hyper 12 Evo.

the GTX 950 I currently have has a 6-pin with an extra 2-pin, do I have to get a new cable or an adapter, or can I just connect as is? My PSU is a Corsair RM650i.
