Recently my card has been taking more heat than normal. Like the 90 degrees celsius range. I would like to remove the casing around the card and get into it , to replace the thermal paste that came with the card. I have only ever seen one video about it on youtube and it wasn't very forthcoming...

Have a Lexmark x792de that will not let us delete fax jobs from the queue. It continues to recieve them but will not print them out. Cannot delete or force print from the printer itself or the web interface. Has anyone dealt with this before ?

Just install them and they should all show up on boot. You can check in bios if they all register. But same speed same manufacturer ram should not be any problems. Windows 7 ?

What motherboard is it ? You should have blue and black slots. If so match ram to match color slots. As in 2 sticks of 4gb in blue and 2 sticks of 2gb in black. Or vice versa but do not mix them up. If they are both corsair and same speed there shouldn't be too many problems if you install them all.

What's the budget for the upgrade ?

Could be a number of things. Does other ram work in the board ?

I was installing Office 2010 on a Windows 7 machine. Install was almost done, when the machine decided to shutdown for no reason. ( Suspect of power surge or similar in the area ). Tried re-installing now all the installer says is that it cannot continue due to an error. But does not say what...

That works also. I am better hands on with spare hardware for this kinda thing.

Monitors are always a better display then TV's for computers.

Uninstall all drivers , reboot , then install drivers for graphics card and monitor. That should clear any old settings that are hanging around.

Is there other ram you could try just to eliminate it down to more parts ?

Maybe it's not liking the voltage setting ? I am not a ram guy .... only thing I can think of atm.

If you are simply trying to move the folders this will not work except in some cases. What ram1009 says is true for the most part. You will need the installer files if you wish to do this.

Are the 2 machines networked ? If so share the folder and or CD drive of the one you will install from and connect to that from the one you need to install to. It's done all the time.

Only way to know for sure that it's not the fans is to re-seat the CPU and heatsink. You don't have more thermal paste ? Even cheap stuff will do which only costs dollars. Perhaps a local computer store will grant mercy on you and give you some if you ask nicely. Otherwise connecting the fans...
