Question Upgraded to 2060Super from 970: Anything 1080 and below works fine, but above that and screen goes black. Occasional flash of signal?

Curiously enough, it ended up merely being an HDMI cable through-put issue. I bought an 8K / 4k120hz compatible HDMI cable and have had no issues. I don't know how my previous GPU was able to push the 4k60P signal thru my first cable; but I did notice tearing on 4k60p content, so perhaps it...

Question Upgraded to 2060Super from 970: Anything 1080 and below works fine, but above that and screen goes black. Occasional flash of signal?

After a very tumultuous BIOS update in which I thought I'd bricked the computer, I've updated the BIOS, did the DDU twice, and then reinstalled the driver. Still doesn't give me 4k60P at 4:4:4 (or is it 4:2:2?) color. I can do 4k60P at 4:2:0 color, or 4k30P at 4:4:4, but attempting to set it...

[SOLVED] So, I finally may have fried something; motherboard won't turn on. Passes paperclip test.

Thank you for your incredible suggestion; removing the battery allowed boot. I then had to fiddle with built-in backup BIOSes in the UEFI before I could reboot while the battery was plugged in. The fear of god has been put into me.

[SOLVED] So, I finally may have fried something; motherboard won't turn on. Passes paperclip test.

I just got a new GPU and was trying to update the BIOS, so I popped the CMOS battery. I realized far too late I hadn't unplugged the power cable, and i can't even remember if I flipped the power switch (though the computer was off). When I popped the CMOS battery back in, no response to power...

Question Upgraded to 2060Super from 970: Anything 1080 and below works fine, but above that and screen goes black. Occasional flash of signal?

Yeah, the BIOS is from 2013, but since the previous card worked just fine with all the cables/ports, I figured it'd be worth inquiring. PSU is a Corsair RM 750R.

Question Upgraded to 2060Super from 970: Anything 1080 and below works fine, but above that and screen goes black. Occasional flash of signal?

Windows 10 MOBO: Asrock Z87 Extreme4 EVGA 2060 Super I did safe mode, DDU, then install of latest driver. My BIOS is a little old...but I want to see if there's a solution before updating that since that is a riskier procedure. I've been able to use a remote access software to mess with...

Getting to the bottom of VRAM sizes, bus speeds, and performance. Novel questions, I swear.

In my researching between the 2gb and 4gb models of various cards, I've encountered numerous articles and benchmarks mentioning the bus speed. People say several cards don't have the ability to use more than 2gbs of VRAM. In theory re: the analogies of bus speed as highway lanes, I understand...

GTX 760 worthwhile for video encoding, rendering, acceleration?

Would 2gb be good enough for consistent 1920x1080 rendering?

GTX 760 worthwhile for video encoding, rendering, acceleration?

Now, considering that the 4GB 760s are in the low 300s, why not get a 2GB 770 then?

GTX 760 worthwhile for video encoding, rendering, acceleration?

What started as a minor upgrade ballooned into a system overhaul, as I am sure some of you have also experienced. Currently i7-4770k (not overclocked) 4x4 gb of 1333 ram (max potential 32gb) 750w 80+Gold corsair model. The current GPU is the measly gt630. I originally slumped on upgrading the...
