    Mixing GPU and backplate manufacturers

I'm planning on upgrading from an R9 270X to a GTX 970 (link here) . I'm also interested in purchasing a backplate, but I believe only EVGA manufactures those. Can I combine an EVGA backplate with an MSI card?

    i5 4690K with Hyper 212 Evo OC

Hello! I will receive my 4690K with my Z97-A soon. I currently have a Hyper 212 Evo along with a Noctua NF-F12 in a push configuration. I want to overclock the 4690K (maybe to 4.5 Ghz), but I'm wondering if it's worth it to spend $140-$150 for the H100i plus another Noctua fan (I want it to be...

    i5 4690K + H100i Thoughts

Alright, thanks. One last thing - would you suggest using the thermal paste that comes with the cooler, or the Arctic Silver 5? I ask because I already have some and have used it for my 212 Evo.

    i5 4690K + H100i Thoughts

Thank you for the reply and pictures! I'll look around some more, but what I saw on one thread is that the backplate should be tight(er) when the thumbscrews are tightened down and the radiator itself is in place. I think my tolerance for annoyances is alright - I have a Hyper 212 Evo, and that...

    Difference between these GPU's

Normally, most graphics cards are made by multiple manufacturers, and each manufacturer has different cooling and other factors when compared to the others. Both cards are made by Asus, and the biggest difference between those cards is the cooling. My apologies, but perhaps someone else will be...

I am looking into 2 different graphics cards which one should i get?

If power will be your primary concern, the 270 will run at 150W under load, while the 270X will run at 180W. On the other hand, the 750 will run at 55W, and the 750 Ti will run at 60W. To answer your question, if you have the money and would prefer Nvidia over AMD, I'd go with the 750 Ti, but...

    i5 4690K + H100i Thoughts

Hello! I am going to purchase a 4690K soon and will most likely overclock it. I'm also going to get a Z97-A. However, I've heard that the H100i has issues with Haswell processors, but I don't know if Corsair has fixed that. Also, according to Corsair's post here, they say that Legacy USB...

    Best Mobo for i5 4690K?

Thanks to everyone for your input. I'll go with the Z97-A - lots of people are saying that it is superior because of its overclocking potential when compared to the MSI Z97 board.

    Best Mobo for i5 4690K?

Lol, the nearest Microcenter is in Denver, an hour's drive away. I'm more likely to buy the Z97-A online :P

How loud will my pc be?

My apologies, I didn't see your components list. Forget what I said earlier ;)

How loud will my pc be?

If you're using the stock cooler for your CPU, that will be the biggest culprit. Are you going with AMD or Intel? Intel's stock coolers tend to be quieter than AMD's (my 8350 stock fan, which I replaced, sounded like a hair dryer).

    Question about BF4

How much VRAM do you have? BF4 has the Mantle API for increased performance with Mantle-supported cards (the 7870 is supported, I believe). Mantle has great performance boosts - if you have enough VRAM. I have a 270X with 2 GB of VRAM, and I stutter. If you have a card with 3 GB (or maybe 4 GB)...

    First PC build help

    1. As far as I know, almost every CPU comes with a stock cooler, and these stock coolers have thermal paste pre-applied. 2. That's a general question; can you post what case you're thinking about? 3. I would suggest going for an i5. I built my computer with an 8350 seven months ago, and now I'm...

    Best Mobo for i5 4690K?

I plan on purchasing a 4690K to replace my current FX-8350. I'm thinking of getting the Z97-A. What are your thoughts? If you suggest a different motherboard, my budget is $150.
