News Former AMD GPU head accuses Nvidia of being a 'GPU cartel' in response to reports of retaliatory shipment delays

Uh oh... Nail #1 meet hammer. Nvidia doesn't want this looked into especially with the astronomical amounts of extra money they can charge people if they don't get caught which is just motivation for more to speak. Someone called EVGA. Nvidia has a history of cheating. They became #1 over...

News AMD discloses slew of high severity security vulnerabilities for Zen CPUs that attack BIOS chips — updates aim to patch bugs, finally fix Zenbleed

CPUs and hardware have always needed security updates. Clearly someone hasn't read release notes in drivers or firmware in the last 20 years

News AMD discloses slew of high severity security vulnerabilities for Zen CPUs that attack BIOS chips — updates aim to patch bugs, finally fix Zenbleed

Local access means no ty to the update especially if there is no word on potential performance implications. Nobody is getting access to my system and advising everyone to update now is a bad idea and a hardware site should know that and know why

News Nvidia's original GTX Titan benchmarked 11 years later — $1,000 card now 'barely usable' in modern titles, often beaten by AMD's sub-$200 RX 6400

Not just memory bandwidth... IPC has significantly increased and so has instruction set so they can do more things and do them faster. This "news" and I'm not saying it's a bad article by that. .. this news shouldn't be a shock to anyone. GPUs will pretty much always get destroyed by newer...

News Taiwan accuses China of 'cheating' and 'stealing' semiconductor process technologies

Of course it's true. China has proven time after time they can't innovate and invent they can only steal and iterate. It's a symptom of the largest problem that they have... Communism and the need to produce results quickly and cheap or be replaced... Often violently

News AMD takes market share from Intel in server, desktop, and notebooks — new Mercury Research data shows Q4 2023 data

The biggest issue I can see is TSMC. They have been fantastic but won't transition to any new processes until 1nm so that could give Intel a built in advantage. Owning a fan certainly has its benefits and AMD along with anyone else that relies on TSMC also is at their mercy when it comes time...

Discussion Chances of Nvidia Keeping the DLSS 3 For 20 and 30 series GPUs?

nVidia won't do it because they don't have to. They are by far in the market dominant position so they already know like 98% of new GPU sales are their chips. What better way to get someone with an older card to upgrade than not only a performance gain but also features that they can't...

News Old Nvidia gaming GPUs enjoy huge performance uplifts from new mod — DLSS 3 to FSR 3 mod enables frame generation to deliver up to 75% better perfo...

Oh and look your TV up. Hell be general and you will see quite plainly that 99% of TV's DO NOT support using VRR and interpolation nor do they support interpolation in game mode because that would defeat the point of game mode which should be obvious because VRR is a technology meant to get rid...

Soap opera effect was 1 of MANY listed errors. 1. So sweeping, I think not. I told you to do research into the rendering pipeline aspect of it if you wanted, otherwise I gave you tons of information but I'm not writing you a white paper. You complain about my wall of text and first you...

News Old Nvidia gaming GPUs enjoy huge performance uplifts from new mod — DLSS 3 to FSR 3 mod enables frame generation to deliver up to 75% better perfo...

It's because unlike a TV the GPU is processing the frame with depth sensor data and also comparing it with another frame then creating the new frame while also rendering 2 more frames just to do all that over again and it can do so up to whatever your refresh rate assuming the CPU can keep up...

News G.Skill RAM Hits DDR4-6666 in New World Record

Wait what? So I had the world record before ... According to the record for 2023 and 2022 I did. I had a 32 gig (16x2) kit of gskill running that fast years ago on am4 (5800x @ 5.4ghz all except core 7 @ 5.2) and i literally just gave the system to a friend like 2 months ago. Motherboard...

News YMTC denies Pentagon allegations - says it doesn't supply technology for Chinese military use

If it's a Chinese company it's controlled by the CCP that's just how it works so yes they would be used by the military. If it's a company operating on China even if not state owned then also yes it's going to end up there too because they control everything and if you were to look into it they...

News More and more USB sticks and microSD cards are being made with dubious components — data recovery firm uncovers no-name, low-quality NAND inside ma...

Some are promo drives salvaged and some are poor quality chips but they weren't sold they are usually stolen and then sold to small back room manufacturers (or people working in malls, I saw a guy in shenzen making them when nobody was at his stall) then those guys sell them on Amazon (or to...

The one on a TV will add massive amounts of latency I wouldn't use it. Latency aside the little chip in literally any TV won't compare to even a APU for video processing of any kind so you will get significantly better results without the massive latency penalty. The chip in a TV is roughly...

News AMD's integrated graphics performance shines in AI tests with extreme memory — Ryzen 7 8700G with DDR5-9000 up to 15% better

    I've been playing with ai video upscaling (7950x3d @ 5.4ghz ccd0 & 5.9 GHz ccd1), rtx 4090, 64 gigs 7000mt ddr5 @ CL28-28-30-70 oc'd from 6000mt) and with a combination of memory, cpu and GPU overclocking I've got the upscale time down from 16 hours to 9... on a 4 min 1080p to 4k video using a...
