severe internet problems after Windows 10 update

I think I heard about this before. I believe the solution was to 'forget' all internet connections and passwords and then reconnect. A modem reboot would also be a good idea. Best of luck.

My first build - looking for answers to random questions!

Looks like the mobo supports vga and dvi only unless you buy a graphics car.

    New to building pc's

Archaic's build looks solid. I'd caution the windowed case though. I've always had issues with static buildup and every damned hair in the house sticking to it. It's up to you though, maybe someone has a fix for the static build-up. d1rty

Can I run Ark: Survival Evolved on a GTX 750 ti and a fx 8350?

It's hard to say on frame rates, it changes often [for the better]. The game is being updated constantly. If I had to guess, you'd be starting off around 30fps with some adjustments to the video settings. That may sound low, but it's a common fps for the game right now. I went from 25fps to...

Will I need to update drivers?

You can d/l your needed drivers on a thumb drive beforehand. If you have at least your network drivers, you'll then be able to get online to get the rest. You may need a handful of drivers such as all your peripheral drivers, network drivers, gpu drivers, etc. But you're right, the network...

So skylake is not for gamers?

If you're happy with what you have, stick it out. I've been running my two year old i7-2600k overclocked to 4.2ghz and have still been impressed with how it competes with the newer cpus. d1rty

Which movie have you watched the most times? Why?

The Matrix. I haven't watched it in awhile but there was a time in college when I must have watched it 20 times. Every time I watch it, I pick up something new.

CPU Thermal Paste - How to Apply and How Much

I've tried a few different ways. I find the best is to put a very small amount in the center [read a few grains of rice] and then use a credit card to "paint" it on the rest of the cpu. You need just enough to cover the cpu as if you were painting it with a thin coat of paint. Cover all areas...

    Gaming : Laptop or PC?

What you'll find on this site is a lot of guys with great opinions. What you'll also find is a lot of guys who will push you to build your own computer. If you have that ability, yes, you will get more bang for your buck. If you don't and just need some links to look at; I've included a bunch...

Motherboard fried? How do I tell if CPU and other hardware are operating

You may as well take the mobo out and try cleaning it again. I'd set it on the kitchen table, grab some q-tips and some isopropyl alcohol [at least 50%]. Then I'd dip the q-tips and start scrubbing away, just be gentle. Make sure you clean it completely this time, including the cpu. Then...
