Gotcha...I just did a standard install of the most recent windows updates, not sure of the KB numbers as I can't get far enough to see them unfortunately. I'm hoping it won't come to that, but thank you for the link, good to know I have that option just in case.

The BIOS update? No, I don't even mess with that update, I tried installing it months ago and ran into similar problems, although in that case I was able to actually get to the desktop. Since then I don't bother with anything to do with BIOS.
