Could be a problem with the memory. Also check the capacitors on the motherboard itself. I have seen some weird stuff when they are going bad. What kind of motherboard and memory do you have?

It turns out that the memory was bad. I did not have another PNY memory stick so I put two patriot memory sticks in. Worked like a charm.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try those on Monday when I can get back to town after Christmas.
