If you want to refresh your pc you need either you manufacturer cd or a recovery partition on your hard drive. You can then go into the bios, and refresh your pc.

Probably a last resort, but since its windows 8, you can go into the uefi bios and do a refresh of your pc while keeping all your files(but not programs which will be uninstalled). If you need some help let me know.
