Help ID why one SSD system is fast and one is slow!

I have a MacBook Pro with a factory SSD that runs Atto at around 3.1GB/sec. That's great. But, I ALSO have a OCZ RevoDrive X2 PCIe SSD in an even faster desktop, but it runs only 300M/sec. I'd like to find out why the desktop SSD is only 10% as fast! The PCI SSD is in a PCI slot (sorry I...

i7-4770K runing 100C at stock clocks; tried air and liquid coolers

On my THIRD cooler it worked; runs in the mid-40s at stock clocks, about 60C if I push it to 4.2GHz. So when they work, they work. Odd that I got two bad ones when I bought one local and one from Newegg, you'd think they'd be different batches, etc. But there you go.

ASUS Sabretooth Z87 + i4770K == CPU Ratio does nothing, stuck at 3500 no matter what

It turns out that the board was indeed running at 4GHz, but the POST says 3500. Every app I had, including a fairly recent version of CPU-Z, showed it at 3500. The -very- latest version of CPU-Z reports it at 4GHz. Why detection of clock speed is so hard, I don't know. Maybe everyone based...

ASUS Sabretooth Z87 + i4770K == CPU Ratio does nothing, stuck at 3500 no matter what

I'm new to the board, but a lot of first answers on threads look like "I'm gonna park this boilerplate answer here so when the question expires it gets picked as the default answer". Neither I nor anyone on this thread needs to know that if the CPU as more power "its gonna run faster". FWIW...

i7-4770K runing 100C at stock clocks; tried air and liquid coolers

It would appear this only happens when I use the ASUS Z87 "magical automatic" overclocking mode, which I wasn't aware was on. I'm surprised that takes it right to 100C, but there you go. With the stock Intel fan and completely stock ASUS timings, it's in the mid-60s under Prim95.

ASUS Sabretooth Z87 + i4770K == CPU Ratio does nothing, stuck at 3500 no matter what

I don't find the UEFI BIOS all that intuitive, but I'm not entirely new to this. However, it's my first Haswell unlocked CPU. The problem is that if I do the following, it still boots at 3500MHz and stays there: - Turn off ASUS optimizations (ie: set it the middle, normal setting on the main...

i7-4770K runing 100C at stock clocks; tried air and liquid coolers

Installed a new MB (Sabretooth Z87), RAM (32G Corsair) and CPU (i7-4770K). With expectations of eventually overclocking it, I bought a Corsair H80i liquid cooler. At max load (Prime95) it ran 100C. The pump didn't seem to be working on the H80i, so I exchanged it. Same deal. Went back to...
