Intel NUC: Office PC or HTPC?

I want to add that my TV is a Sony 40" LED 1080p viewed from 5-6 ft away and my monitor is an AOC 23" LED 1080p viewed from 2 ft away.

Intel NUC: Office PC or HTPC?

I currently own 2 PCs; an Intel NUC (i3-6100u, 8GB RAM, 120GB SSD) and a gaming desktop (i7-4930k, GTX 1080, 32GB RAM, 512GB SSD, and 6TB HDD). I'm currently using the NUC as a HTPC connected to my TV and my gaming desktop for office work, internet, and gaming connected to my monitor. In the...

    i7-4930k @ 4.2 GHz (OC) vs i7-6700k @ 4.4 GHz (OC) in Gaming

I right now have an i7-4930k overclocked to 4.2 GHz and was wondering if I should sell it and buy an i7-6700k, new motherboard, some DDR4, and Windows 10 Home and hope that I can get an one that can to at least 4.4 GHz? I want better gaming performance. Is there a good change that I will be...

Upgrade to a faster graphics card or buy a 2nd PC for office work?

I right now have a GTX 780 Ti but I have to lower a few settings in GTA V and Just Cause 3 for mostly smooth performance at 1080p. I have an i7-4930k as a CPU. I was wondering if I should upgrade to a EVGA GTX 980 Ti FTW or buy a laptop for office work instead and wait for a faster graphics...

    Different CPU or upgrade GPU?

I right now have an i7 4930k oc'd @ 4 GHz and my GPU is a GTX 780ti. I'm looking for better performance in games. I've been thinking about selling my GTX 780ti and upgrading to a GTX Titan X or selling my i7 4930k and switching to a 4790k / Z97 and hopping that I get a 4790k that can at least...

    Turbo Mode Running Too Hot

Actually your are overclocking your 4790k. 4.4 GHz on all cores at full load is overclocking on a 4790k. According to official specifications on the 4790k, 4.4 GHz is only when 2 cores are loaded and the other cores are in a C3 state. No wonder why you are reaching those high temperatures. You...

    what you think guy's about my upgrade ? ( i7 4790k )

Overclocking is not a guaranteed thing and it voids warranty, reduces the life of the chip, and reduces the reliability of a system. Also when troubleshooting system/software problems you should not have anything overclocked.

There is no i5 with a stock 4 GHz base clock though.

    Is this a good build? i74790 + GeForce750

    I suggest a 4790k instead of the 4790. The 4790k is 500 MHz faster than the 4790.

    i5 or i7 for gaming?

The i7 4790k is also 500 MHz faster than the i5 4690k. In some games the 4790k is better than the 4690k because of the higher frequency. CPU speed matter more in some games than others. In my opinion and if I had the money, if I had to choose between a 4790k and a 4690k for a gaming PC I...

    CPU upgrade for FSX

Well, at 4GHz the time in Windows 8.1 went back 2 hours for some reason while I left my PC on. Also Pac Man Championship DX's game menu, their was a game mode that should not be there with the name "UNKNOWN" if I recall, and I want to see what that was about so I clicked on it and got kicked...

i7 4790k Crashes with turbo boost at default settings

http://www.intel.com/support/processors/corei7/sb/CS-032279.htm According this this, your 4790k with turbo boost enabled should be running at 4.2 GHz on 4 core loads and 4.4 GHz for 2 core loads, so technically 4.4 GHz on the 4790k on 4 core loads is overclocking, and probably your 4790k...

    CPU upgrade for FSX

Also when I overclocked my 4930k to 4 GHz weird things were happening on my system that did not happen at stock settings, despite stress testing without issues.

    CPU upgrade for FSX

I right now have an i7-4930k but I have been thinking about replacing my motherboard/CPU with an i7-4790k and a Asus Z97-AR motherboard. I would like better performance in FSX, especially when flying PMDG aircraft in big cities. Is a 4790k much better performing than a 4930k in FSX?
