Current Rig, can I upgrade to a gtx1070?

while you can, that PSU is just not good enough, and your entire platform is just a little bit outated and not powerful enough for a card like a 1070.

    What's the difference between Gigabyte's GTX 970 4GB XTREME & GTX 970 G1 Gaming?

good to know. from what nvidia is saying, it should be somewhere between the titanX to the 1080, so it should be very good.

    Will this set up work?

what's your budget? I wouldn't buy a 980 ti, because of the GTX 1080 launch a few days ago, you will be able get a GTX 1080 with a good cooler for around the price of a 980 ti, with much better performance. the rest of the system is good, although I feel you are overpaying on your PSU, and...

    What's the difference between Gigabyte's GTX 970 4GB XTREME & GTX 970 G1 Gaming?

the Xtreme version is better cooled, and more OC'ed from the factory, but in any case, don't buy a GTX 970 right now, because at june 10th the 1070 is releaced, and will be much better than the 970. I have a 970 myself, and upgrading to the 1070, it's THAT good.
