    I don't think hashing, compression, and CPU encoding workloads is very good test... mature platforms will be better tweaked and more likely to have dedicated hardware, or at least fancy extensions like AVX-512. general purpose computing is probably more its thing.

    I don't see much purpose... easier to do development work on an emulator or one of those cheap tiny computers if that is all it is good for.

    not clear less "efficient"... IF you are willing to wait 10x as long, often possible to do things more efficiently with older hardware
