Integrated video works on its own. If you install another videocard it should still work until you install the drivers.

It is the 6970, not the 5970, which does well on some charts, but the 560 does better on others. I do like that the 560 is slightly cheaper, but the reviews for May on that card are horrid. I wonder if a bad batch went out or what.

Assuming it is correctly plugged in, powered, and nothing is wrong with it, the mobo might be causing it not to open. I would think if it is powered though, regardless of mobo operation, you could open it. Try spamming the button.
